Job Description
The Assistant Director will work with the Director of Student Accessibility Services and Academic Support to promote the full inclusion and equal access of students with disabilities through the development and administration of a comprehensive Student Accessibility Services program, including approving and providing reasonable accommodations, ensuring equal access to programs and activities, and monitoring compliance with institutional policies and state and federal laws.
The Assistant Director will assist students with documented disabilities in requesting, planning and implementing academic accommodations and supports; counsel and advise students; and provide information, promote accessibility and student advocacy across the Wentworth community.

Areas Of Responsibility
Accessibility Services (70%)
- Review and interpret disability related documentation to determine eligibility for services and accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of appropriate academic support services and accommodations under ADA, Section 504, and any related university policies and/or procedures.
- Coach a caseload of students with documented learning, psychological, medical and physical disabilities by providing intake/needs assessment, leading interactive process meetings with departments and faculty and serving as an advocate for students.
- Oversee coordination of testing accommodations; note taking services; assistive technology and e-text materials.
- Consult with current and prospective students, faculty and staff, and families on Student Accessibility Services and Wentworth processes, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain Student Accessibility Services records of activities with students, including communications, documentation, and meeting notes in accordance with State/Federal law and University regulations.
- Assist the department and university in the review and development of policies, procedures, and informational materials related to students with disabilities.
- Educate campus constituencies regarding support for individuals with disabilities and facilitate compliance with the ADA/ADAAA and related federal, state, and local regulations and Wentworth policies and procedures.
- Serve as a resource for the campus community on disability and accessibility-related topics; provide education and training to faculty, staff and the larger campus community on issues relating to disability awareness, compliance, research and best practices.
- Represent the Success Studio at formal and informal university events and activities and serve on committees as appropriate.
- A Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, Psychology, Higher Education Administration or related field required.
- A minimum of 3-5 years in disability services required, preferably in higher education.
- Demonstrated understanding of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Fair Housing Act and best practices for fostering an accessible and inclusive learning community.
- Ability to conduct interviews and review documentation to develop appropriate accommodations and to collaborate with students to determine their best learning environments is required.
- Familiarity and expertise with information technology, including administrative software systems, adaptive technologies, Microsoft Office, online communication tools and social media platforms.
