Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Office Assistant/Legal Assistant to join our legal team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys and other paralegals in various legal matters, including bookkeeping, probate and estate administration, and estate planning.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to details, proficiency in document management systems, bookkeeping skills, good communications skills, ability to follow detailed checklists, and the ability to conduct basic legal research. Knowledge of attorney trust accounts and basic accounting will be preferred.

Duties
- Handle bank deposits and proper trust accounting
- Accounts payable and office billing/accounts receivable
- Handle routine office equipment, computer updates, voicemail system, including coordinating with vendors and service providers
- Support the estate administration process by handling financial accounting records, making deposits, tracking funds for court accountings.
- Assist attorneys with case preparation by organizing and managing documents.
- Draft and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
- Maintain files and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for attorneys.
- Communicate effectively with clients and other parties, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and written communication.
- Collaborate with team members on various projects.
Requirements
- Proficiency in accounting system is a plus.
- Strong understanding of estate planning and estate administration/probate helpful, but willing to train the right person.
- Excellent administrative skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong research skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and willingness to learn new skills.
- Previous experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
