Job Summary:
A Fleet - Safety Representative ensures that a company's transport operations are efficient and profitable. Their duties include scheduling regular vehicle maintenance and making recommendations to management regarding more effective processes
Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to the following:
- On-road training for new and existing employees.
- Assist in local driver recruiting.
- Make minor maintenance repairs on a 26-foot box truck.
- Set weekly schedules, including fleet maintenance with Werner ’maintenance providers.
- Manage maintenance expenses and budget.
General Responsibilities:
Partner with local Operations Managers, Dispatchers, and Regional Operations Director to coordinate, facilitate, and measure training related activities
Track performance and provide identified retraining and process improvement opportunities
Support standard work and safety programs
Lead all learning and operational audits
Directs repair, service and maintenance of company vehicles.
Develops and supervises vehicle preventive maintenance schemes.
Reviews periodic repair procedures to ensure completeness, accuracy and efficiency.
Trains and disciplines subordinate drivers (either Employee or outside Contractors) with the direction of Human Resources / Operations.
Directs planning of automotive repair and maintenance jobs.
Investigates vehicle accidents, negotiates for any possible settlements and authorizes any repairs or maintenance of company vehicles
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of comprehensive experience in maintenance management and a combination of five (5) of general vehicle maintenance experience.
Must have the ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
Must be able to properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments.
Must be able to manage the financial / accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
Must have computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook.
Must have technical competence with light / medium / heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
Must display initiative, professionalism, candor and tact at all times.
Formal education beyond high school is desirable and may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement.
This candidate should have thorough knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repair methods and practices.
Daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
Must adhere to the strict maintenance plan developed by State MVD - DMV /DOT.
Diesel experience is plus.
Job Status: Full Time / 5 days / 4:00am/5:00am start time / schedule availability (Weekends)

Physical Requirements:
- Continuously lift, lower, push, pull all sizes of boxes up to and in excess of 80-100 lbs. to remove merchandise off a furniture delivery truck that is being sent to the service -repair shop.
- 21 years of age or older
