Position Title: Florida Workers' Compensation Attorney - Claimant Representation
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Attorney to join our legal team and represent injured workers. This role requires demonstrated experience in handling first chair Final Hearings and managing cases through all phases of litigation. The attorney will be responsible for representing claimants in workers’ compensation claims, providing legal counsel, and managing cases from inception to resolution. Strong advocacy skills, in-depth knowledge of Florida Workers’ Compensation law, and the ability to navigate complex legal and medical issues are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal representation to claimants in Florida Workers’ Compensation cases, including filing claims, negotiating settlements, and serving as first chair in Final Hearings.
- Advise clients on their legal rights and develop tailored strategies to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Manage cases independently from intake through resolution, including drafting legal documents, conducting depositions, and meeting deadlines.
- Represent clients before Florida Workers’ Compensation Judges of Compensation Claims (JCC).
- Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel to secure the best results for clients.
- Collaborate with medical professionals, vocational experts, and other specialists to develop case evidence.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Florida Workers’ Compensation law and regulatory updates.
- Communicate effectively with clients to ensure they understand the legal process and receive regular updates.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership and in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- Proven experience serving as first chair in Final Hearings within Florida Workers’ Compensation cases (required).
- 3 years of experience practicing Workers' Compensation law (preferred).
- Strong familiarity with Florida Workers' Compensation statutes, medical terminology, and administrative procedures.
· Excellent oral and written advocacy skills, with attention to detail.
· Ability to handle a high-volume caseload with professionalism and organization.
