Job Description
As a Director - Business Development, you will direct, establish, maintain, and plan the overall policies and goals for the business development department. You will develop and maintain client relationships. You will identify potential business partners and negotiates agreements. You will work with other departments to ensure alignment of company goals, as set by senior management. Ensures business growth strategies are met.
Responsibilities :
- Identifies, evaluates, and develops new business opportunities in order to expand business and increase profitability.
- Retains and expands existing company relationships, product lines, or market segments, and solicits new business from prospective customers and suppliers.
- Calls on existing or prospective customers within framework of business development program.
- Establishes relationships with potential customers and suppliers, and discusses unmet needs, problems, or complaints, and arranges for meetings with appropriate WESCO representatives.
- Represents company in identifying, evaluating, and negotiating new product lines, vendors solutions and markets, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, and start-ups in current and new business.
- Oversees development and research activities to identify potential new markets and business opportunities, increases market share, and strengthens competitive position within industry.
- Launches and implements sales initiatives or programs aimed at new, existing, or obsolete product sales.
- Represents company in industry, civic, and community functions to further enhance image and develop additional business.
- Selects, manages, evaluates, and develops staff.
- Compiles and analyzes statistics pertinent to business development program, reports results to senior management, and adjusts programs as appropriate.
