Job Summary:
The Service Advisor acts as the primary liaison between customers and the service department, ensuring that vehicle repairs and maintenance are handled efficiently and to the highest standard. This role involves providing excellent customer service, advising customers on necessary vehicle services, coordinating with technicians, and ensuring a seamless service experience.
Key Responsibilities:Customer Service & Communication:
- Greet customers and listen to their vehicle concerns, recording all relevant details.
- Clearly explain recommended services, repairs, and estimated costs to customers.
- Keep customers informed on the status of their vehicles and notify them of any additional repairs needed.
- Provide detailed explanations of invoices and ensure customer satisfaction before vehicle release.
Service Coordination:
- Schedule service appointments efficiently to optimize workflow.
- Assign work to technicians based on their skills and availability.
- Ensure timely completion of services and repairs by coordinating with the service team.
- Communicate with the parts department to ensure necessary parts are available for repairs.
Technical & Product Knowledge:
- Stay updated on vehicle maintenance and repair trends to provide accurate information to customers.
- Explain the benefits of recommended services and ensure customers understand their vehicle’s needs.
- Understand warranty policies and procedures to assist customers with covered repairs.
Sales & Upselling:
- Recommend additional services based on vehicle history and manufacturer recommendations.
- Inform customers about promotions, warranties, and service plans.
- Educate customers on the importance of regular vehicle maintenance.
Documentation & Record-Keeping:
- Accurately document customer concerns, recommended services, and approved repairs in the system.
- Maintain detailed service records and update customer profiles.
- Process invoices and payments, ensuring accuracy in billing.
Compliance & Safety:
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures in the service department.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and warranty guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized service desk area.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in using service management software and basic computer skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a service advisor or in a customer-facing automotive role is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical knowledge of vehicles and repair processes (preferred but not required).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
