Status: Year Round; Fulltime; Hourly
Pay rate: starting hourly rate $15.00

Wesley Preschool and Play Care is a non-profit Center in a Christian environment, serving our community for over 50 years. We provide care for children from the ages of 2-5 years old. Wesley offers Preschool, Summer

Camp, and Play Care. Wesley’s mission is to provide a safe, happy, nurturing environment for children to thrive and develop as a whole as well as an individual.

Job Description

Provide administrative support to the center management team in support of organization and program outcomes in a Christian environment. Provide leadership through the oversight of day to day operations including maintenance of family records, enrollment and waiting lists, licensing and maintenance of facility.

Collaborate with community partners to build peer networks and support families and children in transitions. In order for you to be selected as a candidate, you will need the ability to write clearly and be proficient with word processing applications and able to learn our database software. Good interpersonal skills with strong communication skills is also vital.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide administrative support for the center staff including handling and prioritizing outgoing or incoming phone calls.

2. Provide correspondences and information requests to families and staff and affiliates of Wesley
Preschool.

3. Provide information and education to families and community.
4. Handle confidential documents ensuring they remain secure.
5. Record information as needed.
6. Maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with clients, visitors and staff. Concerns and complaint go to the Director and are otherwise confidential.
7. Help organize and maintain office common areas.
8. Maintain workplace security by monitoring the entrance, issuing key codes, checking identification as necessary upon the release of children and maintaining visitor logs.
9. Perform general office clerk duties such as, but not limited to, taking payments, assist in billing, making copies, touring the facility with families.
10. Work in coordination with Director and to ensure the needs of children, family, and staff are met.
11. Create, maintain, and update clients using billing software.
12. Work with accountant and program director in maintaining accurate records for checkbook registry.
13. Assist in coordinating events.
14. Monitor office supply inventory and ensures office equipment maintenance
15. Maintain waitlist for clients.
16. Monitor, maintain, and update client files, both paper and electronic, to see that all required information is complete.
17. Create and submit required reports. Assist with compilation of reports from client records systems.

18. Work in cooperation with supervisor to develop and document progress on professional development plan. Actively engages in professional development activities to increase qualifications.

19. Participate in meetings including but not limited to staff and parent meetings, trainings, and evening events.

20. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

 High school diploma
 2 years’ Clerical experience
 Experience in book keeping, data processing and accounting preferred.
 Experience Microsoft office products Able to pass physical, criminal background and Tuberculosis Test

(TB) successfully

Skills Required:

 Strong positive oral and written communication skills

 Strong organizational skills

 Ability to multi task and prioritize

 Ability to work independently without supervision

 Ability to operate office equipment

 Ability to use Microsoft products and on line client management systems

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
