Responsibilities of the Admissions Coordinator:
The Admissions Coordinator is a licensed nurse healthcare leadership position responsible for coordinating and managing all resident admissions for our long term care area. The ideal candidate will have experience in this field and fulfill duties in a way that promotes resident dignity and demonstrates a positive image to residents, families, visitors, and peers.
- Process all daily resident referrals in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Administrator.
- Oversee the coordination of pre-admission screenings, admissions, transfers and dismissals and work with other departments to ensure successful transfer of residents.
- Ensure that new residents are appropriately placed in terms of the care needed.
- Review various healthcare audits as directed by the Director of Nursing.
- Support the MDS Coordinator by conducting assessments.
Qualifications of the Admissions Coordinator:
- Valid Kansas nurse license required
- Experience in adult care and services
- Experience in long term care admissions highly preferred
- Strong ability to lead, communicate and collaborate with various staff and teams
- Possess proficient assessment skills related to geriatric residents.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
