POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Environmental Services or equivalent, the Environmental Services Aide cleans and services rooms and furnishings in assigned work areas of retirement facilities, following established procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleans public and office areas of facilities and patient/resident rooms as assigned.
- Cleans floors with a vacuum, dust mop and wet mop. Shampoos carpets.
- Spots walls as needed. Cleans baseboards, windows, fixtures; replaces light bulbs as requested.
- Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures and arranges furniture as directed.
- Follows prescribed cleaning techniques and uses appropriate cleaning solutions for assigned tasks.
- Maintains supplies in bathrooms and supply closets.
- Collects and removes trash and recyclables; handles clean and soiled linen properly.
- Disposes of biohazard waste as directed.
2. Maintains current knowledge and understanding of proper use of chemicals, tools and equipment associated with cleaning assignments.
3. Complies with Wesley Woods standard of conduct and job-related behavior.
- Attends required courses and training.
- Complies with hazardous material management procedures.
- Complies with annual employee health assessment.
- Maintains acceptable attendance standards.
4. Performs other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- One year experience doing housekeeping work or related experience.
- The ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English.
- Experience in a retirement community preferred.
- Current CPR and/or First Aid will be required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop and twist. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. On-going exposure to cleaning chemicals.

Conditions of Employment
