We are currently looking for a full-time Staff Accountant II to work within our Finance department at The Wesleyan. The Staff Accountant II will support the finance department by preparing and maintaining accurate accounting records in compliance with GAPP/FASB accounting regulations. Strong data analytic skills, along with advanced proficiency in Excel, experience with Net Suite software, and a passion for financial reporting is essential to your success as a Staff Accountant II at The Wesleyan.

Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare and post all journal into accounting system.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Reconcile cash accounts monthly.
- Reconcile and depreciate fixed assets monthly.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting deliverables.
- Prepare information requests for external auditors and cost report preparers.
- Field accounting questions from program and department operations.
- Assist in documenting accounting workflows within the department.
- Support the activities of accounts payable, payroll, and billing teammates.
- Support the implementation of accounting system conversions.
- Purchase order system maintenance and management.
- Complete other job tasks assigned by the VP of Finance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong data analytic skills required and a proven ability to apply critical thinking to job role.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Net Suite software.
- Previous experience in healthcare and or skilled nursing is a plus.
- Must be able to collaborate with other departments and/or program leaders.
- Must have a service-minded approach to all aspects of the job.
- A passion for working within a senior living community is essential.
