ASSISTANT TO THE SUPERINTENDENT AND BUSINESS MANAGER
POSITION GOAL: To assist the School Business Official and Superintendent of Schools in the completion and achievement of all duties related to the general leadership and business operations of the school district.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma with secretarial and college experience preferred.
Proficient in written and oral communication, strong technology skills, and such qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.
Exemplary organizational skills and the ability to carry through multiple tasks in meeting deadlines.
Self-motivated and self-starter person with strong interpersonal skills. Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively to solve problems and complete tasks.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage accounts payable/receivable
- Record financial transactions, including purchases & cash receipts
- Generates monthly AP/AR reports
- Route correspondence and telephone calls to the Superintendent.
- Perform confidential duties for the Board, Superintendent, and School Business Official/Business Manager.
- Maintain file systems, confidential materials, databases, records, various documents, press releases, etc.
- Answer phone and assist parents and staff in person.
- Perform technology needs in areas including but not limited to: word processing (Microsoft Word/Google Docs), spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel/Google sheets), e-mail (Microsoft Outlook/Gmail), Accounting software, database software knowledge (Filemaker Pro), and data entry.
- Register Superintendent and board members for meetings, workshops, conferences, etc.
- Perform the duties of a Notary Public.
- Design and distribute district communications, project flyers, and other marketing materials as needed.
- Prepare cash boxes, as needed, for all home school activities.
- Prepare, schedule, and manage all rental contracts for district facility usage.
- Create, distribute, and maintain all interoffice forms.
- Prepare travel arrangements for district employees.
- Assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Bending, carrying, climbing, driving, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, walking.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Includes extremes of temperature and humidity.
Hazards include stairs and communicable diseases.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) months per year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of Board policy.
Salary : $20
