The Opportunity
We are looking for someone who loves accounting and payroll that will thrive working in a small, fun, professional, and positive office environment! This newly created Accounting Specialist position will perform routine accounting functions and process our bi-weekly payroll.
Job Summary
The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for various accounting and financial tasks, including AP, account analysis, general ledger, accounting duties for our subsidiaries, bi-weekly payroll processing, and associated required reporting. This position will also provide assistance with various administrative and other tasks. This position requires an exceptional degree of professionalism and confidentiality. The Accounting Specialist will report to the Controller.
Qualifications and Experience
· Associate degree in accounting or related field or equivalent work experience.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting and payroll processing.
· Proven experience in accounting and payroll required.
· Proficiency in using accounting and payroll software.
· High school diploma or GED required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
·Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
·Knowledge of payroll principles and practices including state and federal regulations.
·Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
·Exceptional ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
·Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
·Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel as well as email, calendars, shared drives, communication and collaboration applications, and general office equipment.
