The Admissions Counselor aids in the recruitment of undergraduate students for a designated territory including on-campus and off-campus events.
The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and a commitment to working in a team environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Implement and monitor recruitment and yield for a cohort of students
- Manage a specific recruitment territory
- Representing university at off campus recruitment events
- Assist with the completion and submission of application materials
- Build relationships with community college counselors to assist in out-reach to students and their families
- Facilitate group information sessions
- Conduct individual appointments for prospective students
- Assist with on-campus recruitment and yield activities for students
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Work experience in higher education admissions as staff, tour guide or student worker
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Professional work experience in higher education admissions
- Experience using document management tools and CRM systems (such as Slate) for prospect and applicant management
