Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for various machining operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine machining specifications.
- Utilize CAD/CAM software, primarily SolidWorks, for programming and simulation of machining processes.
- Set up CNC machines, including lathes, ensuring proper tooling and fixtures are in place.
- Perform quality checks using tools such as micrometers to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Implement GD&T principles in the programming process to maintain high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes through lean manufacturing principles.
- Troubleshoot machining issues as they arise and make necessary adjustments to programs or setups.
Experience
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAM programming is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience operating CNC lathes or similar machinery is preferred.
- Familiarity with mechanical concepts and geometry relevant to machining processes.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
