What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Assistant position at West Coast Trial Lawyers?
West Coast Trial Lawyers, a downtown Los Angeles Personal Injury law firm, seeks a litigation professional with at least two (2) years of experience working as a legal assistant, paralegal, or case manager in personal injury. Experience drafting and propounding discovery is heavily preferred.
The ideal candidate must be eager to learn and work in a team environment where growth is dictated by the effort they put in! We are particularly interested in a candidate who is seeking growth and longevity with our firm!
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Experience handling personal injury matters from inception of a lawsuit to trial
- Act as the liaison between clients and assigned attorney
- Communications with opposing counsel
- Maintaining the assigned attorney’s calendar while following deadlines pursuant to the California Code of Civil Procedure
- Managing a high litigation case volume
- Processing court filings in various counties along with federal filings
- Updating clients on the status of their case while simultaneously updating the case file
- Propound discovery and prepare subpoenas
- Draft pleadings and legal documents for attorney review
