We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to work Part Time at West Concord Pharmacy in West Concord, MA. Prior experience in a retail pharmacy is preferred and for now, this job is Weekends Only! This could be the perfect fit for a student or someone looking to pick up more hours.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols. Comply with all current government regulations and professional standards respecting patient care.
- Participate in educational and professional programs and/or review professional literature on an ongoing basis to maintain knowledge and competency in current and developing techniques, professional standards, and the services offered by the Branch.
- Answer telephones and record all relevant patient information.
- Review incoming prescription information.
- Pharmaceutical services related to the preparation and dispensing of drugs and other pharmaceutical supplies to patients at home under the supervision of the pharmacist
- Fill prescription orders and prepare for review by the pharmacist.
- Develop technical knowledge of the products/services provided by the Branch and be able to provide information of same to others upon request.
- Monitor pharmaceutical supply levels and place appropriate orders as approved by the Pharmacist.
- Assist with the implementation of quality improvement program to meet company and accreditation standards.
- Perform housekeeping duties with pharmacy- dusting shelves, cleaning.
- Stock pharmacy supplies- labels, papers, staples, caps, vials and bags.
- Wait on customers, ring in prescriptions when necessary.
- Prepare insurance claims and verify payments, call insurance companies when necessary if claim is not paid.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or graduate equivalent degree. College preferred.
- Experience in clinical pharmacy or Home Health industry preferred or equivalent.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Perform basic math functions
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
1-3 Years of Experience in a Retail Pharmacy Setting is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of medication brand and generic names. Knowledge of medical terminology
REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
CPhT Certification preferred but not required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sitting, standing, walking; at desk, in office throughout facility and pharmacy. Operation of office machinery and Pharmacy equipment. Occasionally lift/move items up to 40 pounds.Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision
