Procurement Manager

Job Summary:

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and services from both domestic and international suppliers to support our manufacturing operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in logistics, pricing negotiation, and inventory management to optimize costs, ensure timely delivery, and maintain the quality standards that define West Craft Manufacturing Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute procurement strategies to source high-quality materials and components from domestic and international suppliers, aligning with production needs and company goals.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
• Manage international and domestic logistics, including customs regulations, shipping schedules, and freight coordination, to ensure seamless material flow to our facility.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels, collaborating with production and quality teams to balance stock availability with cost efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, evaluating their performance to ensure compliance with West Craft’s quality and delivery expectations.
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing fluctuations to inform purchasing decisions and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Prepare and manage procurement budgets, forecasts, and reports for leadership, providing insights into cost-saving opportunities and supply chain performance.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with ISO 9001:2015 standards and support the company’s commitment to operational excellence.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and production teams to align material specifications with product requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment involving hydraulic/pneumatic systems or similar industries.
• Proven expertise in domestic and international logistics, including knowledge of customs processes, tariffs, and shipping regulations.
• Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to secure favorable pricing and terms with suppliers.
• Solid understanding of inventory management principles and experience with inventory control systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards and their application to procurement processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess market conditions and supplier performance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual proficiency is a plus but not required.
• Certification in supply chain or procurement, such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
• Experience with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Technical knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder components and materials.
