What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Coordinator position at West End House?
At the West End House (WEH) our mission is at the heart of all we do. We provide high-impact programs that support youth as they achieve academic success, explore the arts, develop career readiness & leadership skills, and adopt healthy lifestyles. We are committed to advancing racial equity throughout the West End House organization - in our youth programs, our community and family engagement, and our board and leadership.
Like other nonprofits, our ability to deliver high quality programing year after year depends on our ability to raise donations from individuals and institutions. The strength of our relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporations is a mainstay that enables WEH to offer youth opportunities to explore the arts, prepare for careers, and develop healthy lifestyle habits. The West End House has experienced significant growth over the past few years – our current annual operating budget is over $5 million, of which 95% is raised through private fundraising. We are seeking an individual to join a team of fundraising professionals committed to advancing the work.
As a member of our development team, your work will focus on operations for this team, including record keeping, gift recognition, data analysis and reporting, board communication, email communication, and website management. You will steward relationships with WEH’s existing funders and participate in initiatives aimed at cultivating new individual and institutional donor relationships. You will play a key support role in communications and logistics for WEH events and fundraising initiatives, such as our marathon team and back to school drive and take a lead role in our year end appeal. You will perform a critical support function for the development team and CEO, strategically managing the CEO schedule, coordinating meetings with other staff and outside individuals and organizing a wide range of internal and external information.
