We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Youth Volleyball League Coaches to assist with coaching 3rd-6th grade players. If you have a passion for volleyball, enjoy working with youth, and have some experience in refereeing volleyball, this is a great opportunity to help young athletes develop their skills while gaining valuable coaching experience.
Position Overview
As a Youth Volleyball League Coach, you will be responsible for assisting the League Coordinator with team practices and managing all aspects of practice and game play. During matches, you will also take turns refereeing the games. This position requires a solid understanding of volleyball and the ability to work well with youth players.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the League Coordinator with organizing and leading team practices.
- Take charge of all aspects of practice and game play, ensuring that players are developing skills and understanding the game.
- During matches, take turns refereeing games with coaches from other teams.
- Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive environment for players to learn and enjoy the game of volleyball.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and the League Coordinator to ensure smooth team operations.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games.
Work Schedule
This position requires availability on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:15 PM to 8:15 PM, with practices on Mondays and games on Wednesdays. The season runs from June 16th to July 30th.
Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years old.
- Skills: Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals and some experience in refereeing volleyball games.
- Experience: Previous experience playing or coaching volleyball is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of volleyball rules, techniques, and game strategies.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for volleyball, enjoys teaching the game to youth, and has a positive, encouraging attitude. They will have a basic understanding of volleyball rules and reffing, as well as the ability to manage and engage young players in a team setting.
