What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician Apprentice position at West Fraser?
The Electrical Apprentice position is an entry-level role for candidates pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) or Mechatronics. Key Activities:
Work and study on the production floor, classroom, and lab to acquire necessary skills to advance into Electrician or Controls Tech positions.
- Troubleshoot equipment using PLCs, HMIs, schematics, and other resources to identify and repair mechanical, electrical, hardware, and software issues.
- Diagnose, analyze, and repair electro-mechanical and instrumentation equipment using meters, gauges, and other testing methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic devices and principles to install, repair, and replace defective equipment.
- Complete tasks and projects assigned by mentor and manager in a safe and timely manner.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN OR COMPLETED A 2-YEAR PROGRAM IN EET OR MECHATRONICS
