Child and Family Advocate and Intake Lead
Full-Time, exempt, 40-hour work week, yearly PTO allowance.
Education Coordinator & CAC Program Manager
Responsible for providing advocacy, crisis support, and case management services for child victims of abuse and neglect, and for their non-offending families and caretakers for cases in Carroll, Haralson and Heard Counties that come into the CAC.
Facilitate a streamlined procedure that is victim-centered and trauma-informed. Providing appropriate mental health referrals (after performing on-site PTSD screeners) and streamlining response by collaborating with the whole CAC team. Travel to training sites, partner offices, and other locations will be required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, leadership, social sciences or related field.
- Experience training groups of professionals.
- Experience in child welfare systems, projects, and business practices.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Outgoing, results-oriented work style with high attention to detail.
- No criminal convictions of child abuse or violent crimes.
Desired Qualifications:
- Graduate level work in a related criminal justice/leadership/social sciences field.
- Bilingual (Spanish & English and/or ASL & English)
- Prior experience with DFCS, Law Enforcement and/or Juvenile/Criminal Justice practitioners.
- Database management and facility with GSuite of programs
Position Responsibilities:
- Advocate for children and their families and caretakers connecting them to services across the entire West Georgia community.
- Develop and sustain effective intake, case tracking, services, follow-up SOPs.
- Maintain Collaborate database and responsible for Case Tracking (NCA Standard 08)
- Maintain and develop positive and effective relationships with partners from Prosecution, LawEnforcement, DFCS, Court, and other MDT Partners.
- Respond to all aspects of the NCA Grant - including seeking feedback from families and stakeholders on the work of the WGACAC as we serve military families.
- Ensure a safe and child-friendly environment at WGACAC (NCA Standard 10)
- Represent the organization at networking, conference, training, and community events
- Train on trauma-informed care and improving services provisions at WGACAC.
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled management, team, and staff meetings.
- Participate in 24/7/365 on-call rotation to provide urgent after-hours services.
- Travel and occasional weekend days and evenings required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Performance Evaluation/Professional Growth:Ongoing professional growth and support, formally evaluated by the CAC Program manager and/or Executive Director on an annual basis. Opportunities for Professional Growth and goal setting part of all evaluation.
