We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians with examinations, performing laboratory tests, administering medications, and providing general animal care.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal analysis
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Prepare animals for surgery and monitor their anesthesia during procedures
- Take and develop x-rays
- Clean and maintain medical equipment and instruments
- Provide general animal care including feeding, grooming, and exercising
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions or concerns
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Veterinary Assistant/ Technician or in a related field is preferred
-Knowledge of animal physiology, veterinary terminology, and laboratory procedures is a plus
- Proficiency in handling dogs and other animals safely and effectively
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness and prevent infection
- Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners and fellow team members
- Willing to train the right candidate
