**1-2 shifts currently available right now each week. More shifts will become available during the week later this Summer, up until Labor Day.**

Job Overview:

Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of our aquatic facilities by preventing and responding to emergencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
• Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• CPR Certified; Current certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training (ex. Red Cross).
• First Aid Certification
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork in regards to chlorine and pH tests.
• Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.

Physical Requirements of the Lifeguard Position:

• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
• Must be able to exert well-paced mobility in limited space.
• Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift up to 50 lbs., including, but not limited to, pool safety supplies and patio furniture.
• Understand and respond to employee and guest verbal requests and visual cues in a loud and extremely busy environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
