Temporary Science Teacher - Athey Creek Middle School

This is a temporary position. The dates for this position are: 1/27/2025 - end of School Year.

Science Endorsement Required.

Position Description:

Create a vibrant learning community for middle school students in Science courses. Educate the whole child intellectually, emotionally, and physically. Plan instructional needs of all children using a constructivist approach to teaching and learning; implement a variety of assessments; establish good relations with parents, students, and staff; attend all pertinent faculty, parent and school meetings; other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities Include:

• Planning for the instructional needs of all students; Attending to the special needs of students; Teaching high expectations for student achievement and behavior;
• Implementing state and district curriculum; Providing instruction that promotes all skill development, knowledge, and reasoning;
• Using a variety of assessments to inform instruction; Creating an environment that maximizes student learning with a focus on character development;
• Developing partnerships that enhance student learning;
• Modeling and teaching respect with an awareness of diversity; Demonstrating continuous professional growth.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of best practices in teaching;

• Masters Degree preferred;

• Oregon teaching license in assigned area(s) and proper endorsements
