Position Summary
West Penn Heavy Haul LLC is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to support rig moves and heavy haul operations. This position is responsible for safely operating a 110-ton crawler crane, assisting with lifting and placing heavy equipment, and ensuring the safe transport of oversized loads. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of crane operations, rigging techniques, and site safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a 110-ton crawler crane to assist with rig moves and heavy haul activities.
- Perform pre-operational inspections to ensure safe and proper crane function.
- Safely lift, move, and position heavy equipment and materials according to project requirements.
- Assist in escort operations for heavy haul trucks to ensure safe and efficient transport.
- Work closely with site supervisors, rigging crews, and drivers to coordinate lifting operations.
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and assist with minor crane repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance.
- Follow all site-specific safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid crane operator certification (NCCCO, API, or equivalent).
- Proven experience operating a 110-ton crawler crane in rig move and heavy haul settings.
- Strong knowledge of crane mechanics, load limits, rigging techniques, and safety regulations.
- Ability to interpret and follow load charts, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Experience assisting with heavy haul truck escorts and transport logistics.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in all weather conditions.
