We’re looking for a high-energy, organized, self-starter to jump into our full-time Purchasing Manager position. West Penn Laco is a multi-generational family-owned business, specializing in welding, industrial, and gas products.
What You Will Do
· Manage accurate onsite and electronic inventory control system.
· Address order or delivery issues including open orders and customer returns/adjustments.
· Analyze purchasing trends, demand and other market factors to prepare accurate forecasting.
· Conduct product research to maintain competitive pricing and support purchasing decisions.
· Develop and implement internet sales and shipping program, incorporating social media when feasible to enhance program.
· Identify and source new technologies/products to upgrade and expand product line.
· Negotiate favorable pricing and terms with vendors.
· Provide outstanding, responsive and personalized customer service to build long-term customer relationships.
· Complete all cycle and year-end inventory management processes with maximum efficiency.
Skills and Experience
· Four or more years of purchasing experience preferred.
· Minimum of two years of experience implementing internet sales and shipping programs with associated social media presence preferred.
· Excellent verbal and written communication with proven negotiation and decision-making skills.
· Knowledge of the welding and gas industry preferred.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and sales software for purchasing, reporting, forecasting and inventory management.
· Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related education preferred (experience may be considered in lieu of required education).
