Description of position:
West Physics has an immediate opening for a full-time IT professional with Apple, networking, and inventory management experience. The position is based in the Vinings area of Atlanta, GA. The IT Support Specialist position is devoted to maintaining business-critical, multi-user IT solutions, including computer set-up, installation, troubleshooting, service, upgrades, and maintenance. Additionally, the role consists of managing and optimizing inventory systems to ensure the availability of essential IT hardware and software resources. The ideal candidate will be a great analytical thinker and problem solver, able to manage time and prioritize multiple projects effectively, including inventory management tasks. The candidate will also be team-oriented and a motivated self-starter who requires minimum supervision. Prerequisites:
- B.S. degree in computer science or a related field preferred. A.S. degree or some other non-degree college education is permissible in candidates with more extensive professional IT support experience.
- 0-1 year of professional working experience with a variety of software, hardware, and applications including networking, security, windows, Mac, and iOS.
- High-level interpersonal skills and the capability to work independently and exhibit intellectual flexibility.
- Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel, is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Install and configure software on computer systems and mobile devices.
- Provide remote technical support, troubleshooting and resolving issues with applications, software, hardware, email, networking issues, and mobile apps.
- Support the implementation of new solutions, applications, and processes.
- Track and maintain computer hardware and software
- Participate in business-wide meetings to provide insight into technical requirements.
- Act as the initial point of contact for all computer and system-related concerns from clients or other employees.
- Assist management in creating training materials pertaining to computer troubleshooting and usage.
- Resolve technical issues related to network interruptions, mobile connectivity/ application troubleshooting, wireless support, and remediation.
- Actively update, maintain, and monitor all aspects of computer networks (wireless and wired).
- Establish and maintain user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges, and security.
- Test, evaluate, and make decisions about new technology for the business.
- Perform minimal website maintenance.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
