What you can expect as a HR Generalist at West Star :
As a Generalist, you'll be a key part of our Shared Services team, supporting a variety of HR and operational functions across the company. Your role will require a mix of responsibilities, flexibility, and attention to detail. The ability to maintain high levels of communication, confidentiality, and professionalism will be essential in your day-to-day interactions with employees and other departments.
This is a full-time position , in office position located in Grand Junction, Colorado. We offer a work schedule of Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, with the option to adapt to different time zones when necessary. Occasionally, you may be asked to work outside normal hours to accommodate employee events or other special circumstances, so flexibility is important.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including :
Drug and Alcohol Program
- Schedule pre-employment drug tests.
- Issue, collect, and review pre-employment D&A paperwork.
- Send out 2-year previous history checks.
- Add & remove employees to drug program.
- Track completion of D&A Employee Training.
- Assign D&A Supervisor Training.
- Assist in creating the Random ePassport.

What you'll need to bring with you :
Your Education :
A High school diploma or equivalent is required.
A Bachelor's degree in HR or related field is preferred. We will consider 2-5 years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and / or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
Your Experience :
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point experience required.
Experience using HRIS systems (ADP preferred), ATS, project management software like Monday.com, Smartsheets or Asana highly preferred.
Your Initiative :
We're looking for a team player who is self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common. This person will also need to always maintain confidentiality and have excellent organizational and communication skills.
Your Sense of Responsibility :
Attend work every day as scheduled
Notify the supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
Must have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties
