JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Laboratory Technician performs clinical laboratory testing on blood, urine, spinal fluid, and other body fluids.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Level of knowledge normally acquired through the completion of an associates degree from accredited MLT program. ASCP certification or eligibility.
- The analytical ability to evaluate potential erroneous laboratory results.
- The interpersonal skills necessary to assist co-workers when not busy, answer inquiries by telephone for laboratory results, and provide laboratory results by telephone.
- Laboratory computer skills necessary to enter and release laboratory results as well as document telephone calls and enter appropriate result comments.
