Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our organization adheres to all regulatory requirements and internal policies, particularly in transportation management and logistics. This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with FMCSA regulations and other relevant local, state, and federal standards while fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization. Fluency in the Spanish language is a must.
Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance programs that align with regulatory requirements and industry standards as set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Administration and the Texas Department of Transportation.
- Driver, contractor, and fleet management qualifications.
- Ensure that all CDL holders meet current regulatory requirements and maintain their qualifications.
- Oversee and maintain the company drug testing program; compliance with the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Conduct regular audits of drivers, contractors, and equipment and assessments to ensure adherence to compliance policies and procedures.
- Prepare detailed reports on compliance status, findings from audits, and recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor regulation changes related to driver and fleet compliance.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations and other safety standards.
- Provide training and support to staff on compliance-related topics to promote awareness and understanding.
- Manage regulatory reporting processes to ensure the timely submission of required documentation.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and our customers during inspections or inquiries related to compliance issues.
Qualifications
- English/Spanish required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Minimum one year of DOT compliance experience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing DOT compliance issues.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and other relevant compliance frameworks.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Familiarity with frac sand operations.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in identifying potential compliance risks.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Professional certifications related to compliance are a plus.
