POSITION TITLE: POSITION SUMMARY:

REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANT

Responsible for resident services and other duties as assigned, and the appropriate delegation of duties to the other staff and volunteers. Duties include personal services housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, delegated tasks, self-administration medication assistance, meal services, and other tasks as needed for resident well-being.

DIRECTOR/NURSE/LEAD ASSISTANT

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

i. Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for resident.

ii. Supports our vision and practices the core values of service excellence, community engagement, life enrichment, mutual respect, self-direction, accountability, diversity and innovation

iii. Receives and gives reports from the previous shift.

iv. Reviews assignments with Director/Nurse/Designated Supervisor.

v. Reads the staff communication records and maintains familiarity with resident records as required.

vi. Assists with orientation of new staff to job responsibilities.

vii. Assists with instrumental activities of daily living, AOL's, environmental orientation, assistance with self-administration of medication, treatments and other care while encourage self-care and independence.

viii. Assists with setting up, serving meals, and cleaning up afterwards.

ix. Provides services as indicated on resident treatment and service plans.

x. Assists residents moving in and out, as assigned.

xi. Assists with laundry service.

xii. Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.

xiii. Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff and visitors including housekeeping services for residents.

xiv. Observes problems, concerns and issues observed with resident units, the building and the grounds and communicates them appropriately.

xv. Observes changes in resident status, needs, or preferences, and communicates them appropriately.

xvi. Observes other problems and communicates them appropriately.

xvii. Observes all work, safety, and administrative rules.

xviii. Adheres to all established policies and procedures.

xix. Records resident information as required.

xx. Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.

xxi. Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work, safety, and other emergency situations.

xxii. Assists with individual residents and group social recreational activities.

xxiii. Notifies physician, nurse and/or designated agent(s) of resident status/change as appropriate.

xxiv. Performs other duties as assigned.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

A. Willingness to adhere to assisted living principles in providing services.

B. Ability/willingness to perform all position responsibilities adequately.

C. Keeps all information confidential.

D. Maintains acceptable attendance record/follows work schedule.

E. Displays cleanliness, good grooming, personal appearance, and follows dress requirements consi tently.

F. Organizes and utilizes time appropriately toward accomplishing assigned tasks requires minimal supervision.

G. Displays mature behavior and attitude in speech and action.

H. Displays ability/willingness to learn new skills and to teach others.

I. Interacts in professional manner with residents, public and co-workers. Works cooperatively with management. Displays willingness to assist co-workers when situation requires.

J. Ability to do occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), 30 lbs. regularly.

K. Adequate and clear English speaking and writing ability, able to communicate effectively.

L. Ability to spend long periods on feet and to ambulate quickly.

M. Is free of non-treated communicable diseases.

N. CPR/First Aid Certified and food handlers obtained as required...

0. Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.

P. Ability/willingness to follow all policies and procedures.

R. Is neat, accurate, dependable, and keeps work/space clean.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 12 hour shift

Work Location: In person

Salary : $10 - $12
