Description
Performs the feeding, watering, medicating, cleaning, monitoring, euthanasia, and movement of all shelter animals. Maintains database of current animal information.
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 4 x 10-hour shifts

Starting Pay: $18.42 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean the shelter kennels, cages, floors, walls, and equipment used for feeding and care
- Water and feed all animals in the shelter
- Maintain database and kennel cards of all shelter animals
- Administer and record all medications
- Euthanize animals as assigned
- Safely and humanely use control poles, leashes, and muzzles as needed
- Assist prospective adopters in selection of a suitable animal
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to interact with the public in an appropriate manner
- Familiar with the proper operation and cleaning procedures for kennels and cages
- Ability to work without close supervision
- General knowledge of maintenance of building and grounds, maintenance and repair equipment, including lawn maintenance equipment
- Basic computer skills
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Language Skills:
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Able to obtain a Euthanasia Certificate within 6 months of being hired
- A valid Utah driver's license or the ability to obtain one
