What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant - WV Office of the Chief Medical Examiner position at West Virginia Department Department of Health?
Under general supervision, employee will compile all data/information from source documents such as law enforcement, county medical examiner/coroner, toxicology, medical examiner, medical, birth and death certificates, autopsy reports, APS, CPS, EMS and 911. Responsible for abstracting and coding information from source documents and input data/information into national violent death reporting system (NVDRS) for the state unintentional drug overdose reporting surveillance (SUDORS) section of the Enhanced State Opioid Surveillance (ESOOS) grant through the CDC. Attend morning briefing in order to identify cases to be included in fatality and mortality caseload for use in reviews and entry into national database. Maintain filing, answer and screen calls regarding various fatality reviews, request records from above mentioned data sources, attend monthly fatality and mortality review team meeting, attend other necessary and relevant meetings, conferences, training and webinars to ensure/maintain competency, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.
AND
Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing routine office work.
OR
Substitution: College hours, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.

Pay: $29,070.00 - $49,360.00 per year
