- Masters Degree in Reading with Reading Certificate K-12.
- Valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in the area of Reading for Early or Middle Childhood.
- Experience teaching Reading preferred.
- Experience teaching Tiered Instruction preferred.
- Experience in modeling lessons for reading teachers.
- Experience in being a mentor to reading teachers.
- Successful completion of the interview.
- Provide professional support to the program by preparing and helping to deliver lessons in conjunction with the teachers.
- Model reading lessons for reading teachers using strategies for both whole class and individual instruction and assist with collecting materials.
- Help plan instruction in cooperation with the classroom teacher maximizing
- Help teachers evaluate the progress of students on a regular basis and share the results with teachers and interventionists.
- Plan activities for parents to participate in the teaching and learning of their children.
- Help to create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Help teachers prepare for instruction and show written evidence of preparation upon request of the principal
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals. In harmony with the goals, help the teachers to establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to students.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individual or student groups involved.
- Assist teachers with the pre and post testing in Reading and data collection.
- Create performance assessment activities using technology.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required.
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Utilize instructional management systems which increase student learning and maximize time on task.
- Monitor student progress towards learning objectives.
- Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.
- Maintain professional work habits.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Principal, Deputy Superintendent of Superintendent.
