- Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
- Prevention and Intervention in substance misuse
- Must be trained in Not on Tobacco or be trained before application
- Valid West Virginia Teacher Certification
- Current PPD test for initial employment
- Meet Requirements listed in the Calhoun County Job Description Handbook
- Demonstrated interest in working with “at risk” youth
- Familiarity with the school’s academic curriculum and the individual needs of the students being served at the site
- Proximity to the students being served to insure compatibility with the program’s schedule
- Implementing programs of study
- Fostering a classroom climate conducive to learning
- Utilizing instructional management systems models which increase student learning
- Monitoring student progress towards mastery of instructional objectives and goals
- Communicating within the educational community
- Meeting professional responsibilities
- Meeting technology standards
- Guide and pace the teaching sessions in order to facilitate learning for the individual student
- Provide reinforcement and constructive feedback
- Help the student gain increased independence and confidence in his/her ability to learn
- Implement grant requirements in-person, remote or virtual
- Implement Prevention/Intervention programming and initiatives for students
- Support staff with prevention/intervention strategies
- Coordinate initiatives with families and the community
