Nature of Work
The West Virginia Department of Health Facilities is seeking a licensed Nursing Home Administrator as the Chief Executive Officer of Hopemont Hospital, a 98-bed licensed Medicaid certified long term care nursing facility located in Terra Alta in Preston County.
Under the general direction of the Deputy Commissioner over Long Term Care for the Department of Health Facilities, is the on-site executive for all operations, serving as the contact for staff, residents, prospects, community organizations, government agencies, and the public. Work includes:
- Planning, organizing and directing the non-medical operations of the facility
- Formulation and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure consistent compliance with state and federal nursing home regulations
- Budget preparation
- Overseeing maintenance functions
- Representing the facility at departmental meetings
Will oversee the selection, hiring, training, and evaluation of long-term care management staff. Work has a high degree of accountability and consequence. This is a classified-exempt position. Requirements include possessing an active nursing home administrator's license in good standing from the WV Nursing Home Administrator's Licensure Board.
Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a criminal background check and a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. Employees are subject to drug and alcohol testing for probable cause as set forth in agency policies. Hopemont Hospital is a tobacco free campus.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Licensure: Possession of a current Nursing Home Administrator license issued by the WV Nursing Home Administrator Licensing Board (WVNHALB) in good standing OR Applicant must achieve a full NHA license by the WVNHALB within the first year of employment in order for continued employment in the position.
Experience: Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid supervisory experience in a hospital, at least three (3) years of which were in hospital administration or management.
