Nature of Work
In the Department of Human Services, under general supervision, this position acts as the Human Resources Coordinator for one of three regions in the Bureau for Family Assistance.
The Human Resources Associate will be the primary contact for all HR field representatives in the region and will review, process, and monitor all transactions for:
- Hiring
- Transfers
- Leaves of absence
- Leave returns
- Reallocations
- Separations
This position will review Human Resources documents submitted by the districts for accuracy, while preparing and reviewing forms for human resources, payroll, benefits, FMLA, and WV Cares. This position may enter/review job postings, submit staffing requests, and provide guidance in recruitment, benefits, retirements, transactions, time keeping, payroll, and job classifications to regional managers, supervisors and secretaries.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Substitution: Candidates may substitute related experience in human resources, payroll, bookkeeping or accounting for the required education at the rate of one (1) year of experience for thirty (30) semester hours of education.
Note: A valid driver's license may be required.
