Education

Associate degree, preferred but not required, within accounting, finance or related field (Preferred)

Schedule:

· Remote and occasional travel to campus as needed by supervisor

· 8 hour shift (9-5)

· 2 late nights (12-8)

· Monday to Friday

Job Purpose:

Provide customer service to prospective students during the interview, recruitment process, to currently enrolled students and students preparing for graduation. The Financial Aid Representative responsibilities include, but are not limited to, responsibility for processing financial aid applications, awarding and adjusting aid, certifying alternative loans and exit advising. Must demonstrate self-motivation with a high degree of organizational skills to be successful in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:

· Advise students and parents regarding the different financial aid programs, eligibility, application procedures and the loan and grant awarding process.

· Interview prospective students by assisting the student with the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) in an effort to retrieve the EFC and consequently determining need for State and Federal Financial Aid programs, and providing the student with a financial package to fit his/her individual circumstances while also paying attention to other factors such as 90/10 and default prevention.

· Process financial aid applications to determine eligibility.

· Send notifications concerning incomplete applications and request for required documentation.

· Calculate financial need based on eligibility and cost of attendance. Provide loan advising to students.

· Analyze and understand complicated federal and state regulations to ensure compliance with Title IV.

· Interface with Admissions, Student Services, faculty members and other staff members.

· Complete second year packaging with students by assisting the student with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Provide the student with a second year financial package to fit his/her individual circumstances. Complete the required second year financial aid enrollment paperwork with the student.

· Complete exit interviews for all students who are completing their enrollment either by graduation or by withdrawal.

· File all appropriate exit interview paperwork in the student’s file.

· Present to prospective and current students and complete any other duties as assigned by the Campus President.

This position is not all inclusive. As other tasks or responsibilities s may be assigned.

While Financial Aid Representative is responsible for fulfilling all primary responsibilities listed above to achieve the immediate goals of the campus, he/she is responsible to meet all organization goals. As such adjustments or additions to these responsibilities and the methods by which they are achieved may be required by management to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency across departments, campuses and the organization as a whole.
