Under limited supervision, the incumbent of this position serves as the lead accountant auditor for other account auditor classifications who perform professional auditing activities to assure compliance with professional accounting and auditing standards for the following programs. Medicaid Nursing Home providers and cost reports, Department of Health (DH), Health Facilities (HF), Human Services (HS), Purchasing card transactions and procedures, and the Office of Shared Administration (OSA), District financial clerk reviews. Additional functions include complex calculations of nursing home provider rate adjustments using audited cost data. Duties include interpretation and application of governing laws, regulations and procedures related to audit activities. This position is responsible for receiving and responding to provider inquiries regarding audit issues working with external groups such as licensing and provider association to resolve problems, as well as functioning as an internal liaison with the Bureau of Medical Services. Selected candidates who agree to work for a minimum of twelve (12) months may be eligible to receive a $5,000 appointment incentive. Preference will be given to applicants holding a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Forensic Accountant (CFA), Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), or applicants who have completed a graduate certificate program in forensic accounting and fraud investigation.An additional one (1) year of experience in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, and/or finance may substitute for the required accounting semester hours at the rate of one (1) year of experience for every thirty semester hours.
