Parks/Headquarters Under general supervision, this position functions in the capacity of the Parks and Recreation Section Assistant Business Manager. Serves as a special liaison with the DNR Administration Section on all agency functions related to that section. This shall include, but not be limited to, interaction and joint work/projects in the areas of accounting, accounts payable, procurement, P-Card management, revenue collection and reporting, budgeting, personnel, and customer service. Assists in preparing section level and individual park and forest annual operating budgets, including operating revenue, routine repairs and alterations, equipment replacement, and capital improvements. Assists in preparing Parks annual Legislative Budget request. Assists in preparing annual park system rates requests for approval by the DNR Director. Participates in and oversees section revenue management activities, systems, strategies, staff supervision and staff training. Participates in creation and evolution of section administrative-related policies. Plans and conducts section-wide staff training on a variety of administrative issues and policies. Assists in the creation, implementation, operation, update, and maintenance of a section-wide and individual area financial and operational reporting database system and multi-user dashboard that features all relevant business management statistics for the section. Prepares individual reports and conducts financial analysis on all section business operations as needed. Conducts section purchasing activities as required. Reviews and approves purchase orders to form, and confirms that funding is in place and proper purchasing guidelines are followed. Assists in the preparation and review of Requests for Proposals. Must obtain and continually possess an agency purchasing card. Assists in developing an approval system and approves staffing requests for temporary field employees. Assists in monitoring the health of the Parks Special Revenue Operating Account (Fund 3265) by watching for trends that may adversely affect this account and make recommendations to the Business Manager on possible courses of action to enhance section funding. Serves as Section Grant Coordinator. Supervises certain office staff. Prepares and maintains concession contracts and files. Purchases and maintains domain listings for parks and forests. Assists in oversight and operation of all section technology systems and needs. Assists in oversight of guest credit card processes, payment gateways, etc. Assists in managing the gift card program. Will be trained how to effectively operate all business-related systems, hardware, and software including but not limited to: OASIS, UKG, facilities reservation system(s), point of sale systems, Google, etc. A valid Driver's License is required. Training: Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a degree in the area of assignment.
Substitution: Experience as described below may substitute for the training requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid administrative or supervisory experience in the area of assignment.
