Counties of Vacancies – BROOKE, HANCOCK, MARSHALL, OHIO, WETZELIn a training capacity, acquires the ability to perform protective services work in fire investigations/fire safety inspections, for a time period to be specified by the State Fire Marshal. The employee will learn proper methods of fire investigation/inspection through classroom and self-study and by assisting with fire investigations and inspections in the field. May assist with fire safety inspections or schools, public and private health care facilities, and correctional facilities. With direction, employee will work with businesses for compliance with fire safety codes and assist with follow-up inspections. Will learn to determine adequacy of hallways, stairways, and doors to allow safe exit from the building. May assist in fire arson/explosives investigations. The employee will work within an assigned geographic region of the State. Travel is required.
