What are the responsibilities and job description for the Budget Analyst 2 - DHS - Division of Administrative Services - Kanawha Co. position at West Virginia?
Under general supervision, assist with the budget operations for the fiscal department of the Division of Administrative services that provides fiscal, HR, payroll, fixed assets, and purchasing services DAS, DCR, Secretary’s Office, Fusion Center and Fire Marshal's Office. This currently consists of a budget of roughly $600 million in expenditures and payables. This position serves as a core component in the fiscal section and is responsible for monitoring budgets and spending on accounts, while following strict adherence to the WV State Code. Assisting in the preparation of the yearly appropriation requests, and expenditure schedules. Performs account balancing while classifying or coding payables under multiple funding sources; transfer funds and make deposits; verifies invoices for accuracy; assists with budget forecasting and development; makes journal entries and other transactions; may train subordinate staff; gathers data and prepares detailed worksheets to assist with monthly reporting deadlines; this position will oversee the invoices, billing and other duties. Training: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in business administration, public administration, accounting, statistics, economics, finance, public policy analysis or related fields.
Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid technical experience in governmental budget preparation, monitoring and/or review.

Salary : $41,194 - $71,789
