Business Analyst

Job Summary:
The State of West Virginia is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to support the state’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution and associated operations. This position focuses on fostering change management, assisting with project management, collaborating with multiple departments, and ensuring that the ERP system aligns with the organization’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills, an understanding of state government functions such as financial reporting, human resources, payroll, benefits administration, budgeting, and procurement, and experience in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to analyze, document, and improve business processes.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, translating business requirements into actionable solutions.
- Facilitate and lead meetings to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and discuss system enhancements.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation to support decision-making and system updates.
- Assist in the creation and execution of test plans to ensure successful implementation of system changes.
- Write, monitor and ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Experience in business process analysis, workflow documentation, or ERP system support.
- Knowledge of financial reporting, human resources, payroll, benefits, budgeting, and procurement in a government or large organizational setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse teams.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in creating documentation, presentations, and reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Familiarity with ERP systems and their integration into organizational processes.
- Knowledge of open systems, Microsoft technologies, and Oracle databases.
- Experience with writing SQL queries.
