Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DCR)/Parkersburg Correctional Center/Wood Co.- Under administrative directive, performs counseling work at the full performance level by providing spiritual guidance to the inmates The Chaplain organizes all faiths to be observed in the facility. Also arranges funeral trips, death bed visits, inmate marriages, and other religious activities that occur within the facility. The position assists with being the responsible party for speaking to inmates about family crisis, death in the family and counseling services. This is a daily event in the facility. The position also supervises all religious functions daily. Performs other duties as required. (0608P00117)

TRAINING: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree  in religious education, divinity, pastoral counseling or a closely related field;  or, graduation from a Bible College accredited by The Association for Biblical  Higher Education; or graduation from a theological seminary accredited by the  Association of Theological Schools.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Certification of ordination or  ecclesiastical commission by an endorsing body or denomination.
