The West Virginia Division of Finance is now hiring a Financial Reporting Specialist 2 (FRS 2) in Charleston, WV. This is a great opportunity to work in a position that supports reporting and financial management activities for the state. The FRS 2 will: Perform professional accounting work at the advanced level under limited supervision. Participate in decisions concerning the completion and the presentation of the comprehensive annual financial report (ACFR), the Single Audit, the Statewide Cost Allocation Plan (SWCAP), and preparing work papers, footnotes, and other schedules for the West Virginia ACFR, Single Audit, and the SWCAP. Maintains contact with state and federal officers and other accounting personnel on developments and issues in financial accounting and reporting. Assist contracted Certified Public Accountants (CPA) performing audits of GAAP state financial statements.Participate in the development of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) training for agencies and external auditors of state agencies, preview and recommend state accounting and reporting policies and procedures, and interpret WV Code and GASB statements to ensure that the state reports issued are in compliance with state regulations, GASB statements, and OMB Guidance.As a condition of employment, an inquiry into job-related information may be completed which may include but is not limited to, criminal records, abuse registry records, driving records, employment history, and education and training.
