What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper position at West Virginia?
Day Shift Position. Under general supervision, duties include grounds maintenance, trimming trees, cutting grass, and cultivating plants and shrubs. Makes improvements to walks, lanes, sheds, and benches including painting and minor repairs. Performs preventive maintenance pertaining to grounds area. Requires frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. May be required to work from ladders, scaffolding, or from lift-truck. Performs other related work as required. A valid driver’s license is required. Some weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday) and holiday work is required. This position is an essential position and may require emergency call-outs. Pesticide applicator license preferred but not required. As a condition of employment an inquiry into job-related information will be completed which may include, but is not limited to, criminal records, abuse registry records, driving records, employment history, and education and training. Failing to cooperate with this process, providing false and/or incomplete information, or discovery of disqualifying information will result in denial of or dismissal from employment or denial of transfer irrespective of when discovered.
