The WIC Vendor Compliance Liaison is responsible for managing relationships with WIC Vendors (WIC Authorized Grocery Stores), and providing administrative coordination, development, and complex technical assistance for allegations of fraud, customer complaints and compliance investigations (i.e. inventory audits and compliance buys), a component of the Office of Nutrition Services (ONS) Retailer and Farmer Management Division. Serves as a liaison to facilitate problem resolution and assures compliance with policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state and local statutes, standards, and administrative rule and regulations for all owners, operators, and managers of retail grocery stores conducting WIC transactions, WIC customers, and local WIC Agency Vendor Liaisons. Conduct covert visits to high-risk WIC vendors statewide under assumed identity of vendor practices by conducting WIC transactions and observing customer service practices which have potentially significant impact and may involve sensitive legal issues.
