Full-time employees of the West Virginia State Treasurer’s Office (WVSTO) are eligible for Public Employee Insurance Agency benefits, plus other benefits available to state employees.Location: Charleston, WV Job Type: Full-Time Permanent; Not in the Classified Service; FSLA; Non-ExemptDivision: WVSTO Unclaimed PropertyReports To: Receipts Manager, Unclaimed PropertyNature of Work: Under direct supervision, this position requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, holders of abandoned property, and other staff to provide effective receipts processing. This position is responsible for the intake and processing of all funds and securities deemed escheatable under the Unclaimed Property Act. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple assignments independently and be able to communicate professionally and effectively in both oral and electronic means. Work is performed according to detailed instructions and the methods of work are well established and outlined by the Receipts Manager.Job Duties: Enters wvOASIS stale dated check data and peer review for stale dated checks into UP system. Receives and processes holder reports filed through state website or mailed electronically on disk and enters the account information into the UP system. Matches holder reports to remittances.Inputs all payments received into UP system and match to wvOASIS deposit. Follows up on files that will not load or have incorrect or incomplete data. Processes Oil and Gas Co-Tenancy reports filed through state website. Assists holders with reporting questions or issues via phone and email. Pulls receipt files as needed by Claims or other department inquiries. Maintains back up information on holders and update notes in holder files within UP system. Research holder files and assist with special projects as required. Informs supervisor of any potential problems and on weekly progress. Assists management with annual Holder Workshop seminars as requested. On Audit reports, links the report to the Audit module and prepares the Audit invoice for Management review. Creates wvOASIS deposits for electronic payments received. Other duties (as assigned): Enters securities into UP system based upon holder report. Matches mutual funds / stock to correct holder Matches securities receipt with report. Determines the validation of security related claims and enter necessary dividend calculations. Inputs all dividends and sales of securities into UP System. Researches old security data in UP System. Serves as backup Safekeeping Specialist if required. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Treasurer for Unclaimed Property, the Deputy State Treasurer, and the State Treasurer. Participates in a self-performance evaluation as part of the employee's annual, or more frequent, performance evaluation interview.
