Professional Dog Walker

Westboro Dog Walkers, LLC is a locally owned and rapidly growing company that has an immediate need for professional dog walkers/pet sitters in Westborough, MA and surrounding towns. These are part time positions (up to 30 hours per week) and a great opportunity for someone looking to earn supplemental income doing something fun and rewarding. If you love animals and the outdoors, are extremely dependent and trustworthy, and are committed to excellent customer service, this is the job for you! Generous earnings are based on your availability and how many dogs you care for each week.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must love working with dogs and have experience caring for pets (yes, caring for your own does count)!
• Must be extremely dependable and trustworthy, with a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently.
• Must be punctual, well organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage your time well.
• Must have a friendly personality, good communication skills, and be professional with clients.
• Must be physically fit, able to walk/handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and willing to work in all weather conditions.
• Must have a reliable car, valid driver's license, clean driving record, and up-to-date auto insurance.
• Must have a working smartphone with mobile internet access, capable of sending and receiving both text messages and email.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be willing to submit to, and be able to pass, an extensive criminal background check.
• Prior volunteer or professional experience working with dogs and other animals is preferred, but we will train the right person.
• Previous dog walking experience is a definite plus.

TRAINING
You shadow for 1 week, meeting the dogs and coworkers, and learn the basics of the daily routine. Post training, you start walking your dogs with a staff member shadowing you. The following you are on your own, walking the same dogs to create a familiarity between you and your new pal. The longer you stick with it, the more you involve yourself in our company mission, the more you demonstrate your willingness to work hard and grow professionally, the more you learn, the more you earn.

HOURS

• Weekdays and one weekend/month. Weekends (morning, afternoon, night or all day). You MUST be available during these hours to apply for this position. Please specify.
• Assignments may be minimal to start with (just a few hours per week), but you can expect the hours increase over time as new clients are added.
• Assignments may include serving in an ON CALL capacity, filling in on short notice for another dog walker who calls in sick.

COMPENSATION

• Compensation is on a per-assignment basis and depends on specific client agreements. We provide complete transparency on all transactions.
• All walkers will be covered by our Pet Sitting Insurance and Workers Compensation.
