What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Human Rights Officer position at Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospital?
The Human Rights Officer ensures that recipients of mental health services are notified of their rights; assists with resolution of complaints from or concerning recipients of services; provides patients' rights training to staff and serves as liaison with outside entities as necessary.
Carries out quality and risk management activities defined in the Quality Program Plan
In consultation with the Director of QI-RM-PI, serves as a point of contact and intermediary to respond to patient, family, caregiver and/or guardian concerns withing timeframes designated by hospital and regulatory guidelines.
Resolves patients' complaints and grievances and/or convey questions, complaints, problems and concerns of patients to proper personnel.
In consultation with Director of QI-RM-PI, completes follow-up contacts to discharged patients/caregivers/guardians along with completing the necessary supporting documentation
In consultation with Director of QI-RM-PI, documents concerns, grievances and complaints related to mental health services and resolutions provided.
Provides training and education about mental health law and patients' rights to staff, contractors and consultants.
Manages the Patient satisfaction Surveys (Inpatient and Outpatient), analyzes results, develops reports for QAPI and works with department leaders in improving the overall satisfaction score of the hospital.
One year experience as a mental health worker, case worker, clinician, or social worker in a mental health environment; or a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the above employment standard that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
High School degree or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
